Qi (WPC V1.1) Compliant Wireless Power Supply, Texas Instruments
Qi is an interface standard developed by the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) for inductive electrical power transfer over distances of up to 4 cm.
A Qi-compliant wireless power system consists of a charging pad and receiver. Power transfers from transmitter to receiver via coupled inductors. Coils in both the charging pad and the receiver are magnetically coupled when the two devices establish contact.
The convenience and safety of standards-compliant wireless power systems continues to grow in market demand.
