TE Connectivity Premium Grade CERTI-CRIMP Hand Crimping Tool for Type XII Contacts

The Importance of a High-Quality Crimp

When a crimping tool is used on a terminal, two crimps take place at the same time. One is the electrical connection between conductor and terminal. The other is the insulation crimp which provides strain relief against vibration and tension. It is important that the electrical connection is gas tight without any voids between the wire strands and the terminal. If there any voids present, then corrosion can occur causing resistance and excessive heat which damages the electrical connection. Using a good quality crimping tool will ensure that a full, gas tight crimp is produced preventing future deterioration of the electrical connection and insulation breakage

TE Premium Grade CERTI-CRIMP Hand Crimping Tool - Overview

From TE Connectivity, a premium grade hand operated crimping tool designed to high specifications using high-quality materials for producing top quality consistent crimps with optimal electrical and mechanical performance. The premium grade tools are easy to use and require minimum operator skill to produce high quality crimps to specified parameters. The crimping tool consists of a CERTI-CRIMP tool ratchet, two fixed crimping dies or crimpers and two movable crimping dies or anvils. A locator and wire stop help to position the contact in the tool and limit the distance the stripped wire can be inserted into the contact. To aid identification the wire size information is displayed on the head the crimp tool. The handles of the crimp tool are set to specific pressures to meet different crimp force requirements. The whole design of this premium handing crimping tool ensures that a complete crimp cycle is achieved regardless of operator fatigue or tool wear and tear.

CERTI-CRIMP Ratchet

The CERTI-CRIMP ratchet is factory set to stay locked until the handles of the tool are fully closed and the dies are bottomed. This prevents partial crimps by ensuring that a full crimping cycle is achieved. The CERTI-CRIMP ratchet also enables the operator to repeatedly produce consistent, high-quality crimps.

Key Features and Benefits

• High specification design using high-quality material
• Minimum operator skill required
• CERTI-CRIMP ratchet mechanism guarantees full crimp cycle
• Locator and insulation stop help to position the contact
• Ergonomically designed handles with pre-set handle force pressures
• Fixed crimp dies
• Wire size information on the head of the tool for easy identification

Applications

This TE Connectivity premium Grade crimping tool is ideal for use in low production runs, prototype work and repairs and any other application that requires consistent, high-quality terminations. This CERTI-CRIMP premium grade hand crimp tool is also suitable for use in most military, UL and CSA applications
