RS Pro Extruded Acrylic Solid Plastic Sheets- PMMA Sheet : polymethyl methacrylate
From RS Pro a range of high-quality extruded acrylic solid plastic sheets available in a range of sizes and thicknesses.
What are Solid Plastic Sheets?
Solid plastic sheets are sheets of strong durable plastic or plastic like materials which are cut to size and sold in a wide range of sizes and thickness. These hard plastic sheets, once purchased, can then be cut or machined into components for the fabrication of products for use in a wide range of industries. Different plastics have different properties which lend them for use in specific applications
What is Acrylic?
Acrylic also known as polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) is a opaque engineering thermoplastic which is often used as a glass substitute. This type of plastic is more flexible, lighter and stronger than glass with a higher impact strength. It is also safer as it does not shatter into small pieces like glass. This also reduces damage to goods in transit saving costs. Acrylic plastic sheeting is also easy to work with and can be curved and formed into a variety of shapes and configurations and cut into extremely fine shapes using laser cutting technology.
What are the Advantages of Extruded Acrylic Sheet?
Extruded acrylic is produced by stretching so its properties are preserved in one direction. It has a consistent thickness across the sheet making it ideal for fabrication.
